Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Kigali To Volcanoes National Park

Arrive at Kigali Airport early morning. The company driver will be at hand to welcome you. Should you need to freshen or have a quick breakfast, the driver will take you to a hotel for the break. Take a short city tour of Kigali after which start on your journey to Volcanoes National Park – a stunning three-hour drive north among the lush, green landscape of the countryside. The landscape of Volcanoes National Park is incredible with a spectacular line of volcanoes far into the distance. Arrive late afternoon.
Check in your lodge and relax. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Volcanoes National Park.

Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes National Park: This morning after breakfast at 0700, you will be transferred to the park office for briefing, porter allocation and enjoy some tea and coffee grown in the neighborhood. Tracking can take one hour to seven hours depending on which family group you are assigned. You will spend one hour with the gorillas’ taking pictures and learning about their behavior.
Return to you accommodation and relax. In the evening you may visit one of the community projects depending on interested guided by your driver guide. Dinner at overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Volcanoes National Park To Kigali

This morning at 0900 return to the edge of the park for Golden monkey tracking. The hike in the forest will enable you see other species like butter flies, birds and beautiful forest flowers. The monkeys are fun and lively and very beautiful to look at with their bright orange bodies. The golden monkey species are indigenous to the region and more elusive than the gorillas. They are fast-moving and will certainly keep you on your toes. After one hour with them, return to the lodge, freshen up and drive back to Kigali arriving early evening.
