Your Uganda golfing experience is going to be above your expectations and won’t even compare to your wildest dreams. The climate in Uganda is perfect for golf uganda-golfingany day of the year. Temperatures range from 21-25 degrees Celsius daily. There are “rainy” seasons in the spring and fall, but honestly, they are nothing that you should be concerned with. There are golf courses within walking distance of many of the major hotels in the country-convenient because you don’t have to pay more for transportation. Aside from your typical, day to day golf, you will find the most unique golfing experiences while visiting this fascinating country. You can golf near the beautiful Murchison Falls at Kinvara Golf club, or start your game with gorillas in Kabale, or maybe even put alongside of the Nile River at Jinja Golf Club, either way, you are guaranteed a good time! Kampala and Entebbe golf clubs are convenient for a free morning or afternoon on the day of arrival or departure. Weekends are not convenient as most competitions take place this time.

The Uganda Golf Course in Kampala is a good track, worth playing at. While a trip to Entebbe Golf course will give you great experience and you’ll be out in the wide open spaces near Lake Victoria.
The Kampala course comprises a good range of 18 holes in ‘rolling parkland’ with a few steepish slopes, broad tree-lined fairways, and a burn that meanders throughout. Most of the holes are well-designed with the burn coming into play quite appropriately, several thought-provoking doglegs, and some well-positioned bunkers. Par is 72: four par 5s and three par 3s on the front nine, one par 5 and two par 3s on the back nine. The course plays all of its 6684 yards, but whereas Entebbe has a par 4 of 473 yards (for me unreachable in 2), Kampala’s 476 yard hole is a much more generous par 5.

There is a pro shop at the club houses that hires out equipment. The clubs are usually about $25, guests can also hire shoes $5 and buy golf balls, tees and T. shirts. Guests are encourage to wear collared shirts or mock turtlenecks, no jeans and either golf shoes or trainers.
